Ethelbert White was born in 1891 and died in 1972. He studied at St Johns Wood under Leonard Walker and was the friend of Gertler and Nevinson. White was a member of the Royal Society of Wood Engravers and exhibited regularly at the London Group and the New English Art Club. His work is represented in the Tate.
