Talmage was born in 1871 in Fifield and studied in St Ives. There he met Julius Olsson and founded the Cornish School of Landscape, Figure and Sea Painting. He held one-man exhibitions at Goupil and was an Official War Artist. He was elected RA. Died in 1939.
