Maquette in plaster, measuring 35cm (including slate base). Incised defining scratches (sgraffito) in such areas as Christ’s blessing hand and swaddling. Possibly an initial idea for the composition of ‘Our Lady of Pity’ in Norwich Cathedral (1967-8). The spots on the composition are air holes from the plaster casting.
