Ian Ribbons was born in 1924 and trained at the Royal College of Art. He was a visiting lecturer at St. Martin’s School of Art, and also at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He wrote (and illustrated) six books, gave lectures and made an extended tour of the U.S.A. and Canada. Ian was a prolific illustrator, his fine pen, ink and wash adorning books by Kipling, Dickens and Maupassant amongst many others .
