Maquette in plaster with grey colour wash, measuring 37cm (including marble base which depicts example of Skelton’s letter carving). Incised defining scratches (sgraffito) in such areas as Christ’s blessing hand and swaddling. Possibly an initial idea for the composition of ‘Our Lady of Pity’ in Norwich Cathedral (1967-8).
