Julian Trevelyan (1910-1988) was born in Dorking, Surrey. Educated at Bedales School and Cambridge University. For several years in early 1930’s studied with SWHayter at Atelier 17 in Paris. Was a member of English Surrealist Group in 1936. Married the painter Mary Fedden in 1951. Made hon. senior RA in 1986. Tate Gallery holds his work.
